Real Lives – Charlie’s Story

Real Lives – Charlie’s Story

Charlie is 18 years old and a media student in Penzance

Charlie arrived at YMCA Cornwall last year after challenging circumstances at home led him to having no fixed address and being housed in a hotel temporarily.

He was first offered a room in our shared accommodation until a flat became available. Now he’s living independently and has a bright future.

Supported Housing

Over the past year, Charlie has gone from being a YMCA resident to gaining qualifications in Media Studies at Penwith College. During this time, Charlie has learned to cook, help budget for bills, and become more independent and outgoing. All with the help of his Housing Support officer at YMCA Cornwall.

Your help really does change lives.

You’ve helped me learn to live independently, and more importantly, believe in myself.

Charlie
