YMCA Cornwall has launched its Winter Appeal to support young people facing homelessness and housing insecurity across Cornwall.
While many of us look forward to warm homes and festive celebrations, some young people are facing a very different reality. Rising rents, a shortage of affordable housing and increasing living costs are leaving more young people at risk of homelessness.
At YMCA Cornwall, we provide more than just a roof over someone’s head. We offer safe accommodation, one-to-one support, life skills, wellbeing services and guidance to help young people build independent futures.

Homelessness is often hidden. Many young people are sofa surfing, living in unsafe accommodation or struggling to find somewhere affordable to live.

“Cornwall may be a popular holiday destination, but there’s a side of Cornwall that many people don’t see. Behind the image are young people facing homelessness, sleeping in unsafe places, sofa surfing or struggling to find somewhere affordable to live.”
Throughout November and December, we’ll be hosting 12 Days of Christmas fundraising events, giving our supporters more ways to get involved and make a difference.
Also, if you’d like to fundraise for the Winter Appeal, download the fundraising pack and get involved.
Together, we can help keep young people safe, warm and off the streets this winter.
