Work Begins on the First Flat at Appletree House

Work Begins on the First Flat at Appletree House

We’re thrilled to share that thanks to your incredible support, the Your Help, Their Future campaign has now reached £202,000!

This amazing milestone means we have been able to start building work on the first flat in Appletree House,  this is one of four flats we are aiming to build on our site to give to a young person who is homeless or at risk of homelessness in Cornwall.

Once complete, it will be offered to one of the 46 young people on our waiting list.

Starting work is a huge milestone

Starting work on the first flat marks a huge step forward in getting someone out of an unsafe situation and making our vision a reality.

Over the coming weeks, our team will be hard at work turning an old office space into a warm, welcoming home. We’ll share photos of the progress so you can see the impact your donations are making, stage by stage.

The campaign kicked off with Royal support

YMCA Cornwall’s Your Help Their Future campaign kicked off earlier in the year with a £70,000 donation from the Duke of Cornwall’s Charitable Foundation. This along with donations, grants, fundraising events and support from local parishes and groups means we are almost at our target of £250,000 to complete the project.

This huge milestone wouldn’t have been possible without you. Every pound donated has helped us get here, and every contribution continues to make a real difference.

Thank you for believing in this project and helping us create brighter futures for vulnerable young people in Cornwall.

Can you help us keep the momentum going?

We still need your support to reach our target of £250,000 to complete the remaining flats in our former dance studio. Every donation brings us closer to building safe new homes for young people at risk of homelessness.
