The Cabinet Office has announced that David Hall-Davies, CEO of YMCA Cornwall, has been awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in recognition of his services to Charity in the King’s first New Year Honours List.
David’s resilience and tireless efforts turned YMCA Cornwall around and made it a success, whilst his drive and determination ensured that ambitious plans to convert the sports hall to create additional accommodation for 20 vulnerable young people became a reality.
David has been pivotal in steering the organisation through the challenges brought by the pandemic, Brexit and the ongoing cost of living crisis, expanding the service to ensure the organisation goes from strength to strength.
Commenting on the award, David said: “I feel incredibly honoured and humbled to have received this award. YMCA Cornwall would not be in the strong position it is today were it not for our Board of Directors who have offered their support and guidance, and my hard-working team whose commitment and dedication make the organisation what is it today and who made our ambitious sports hall conversion project become a reality.”
