The Armed Forces Covenant

We are proud to confirm that YMCA Cornwall is a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant.

This represents our recognition of military duty, past and present, and the value we place on their contribution to our business and society as a whole.

What is the Armed Forces Covenant? How does it work and who does it benefit?
Lieutenant General Richard Nugee, Chief of Defence People, explains all in one minute.

By signing the Covenant, we pledge our commitment to support members of the Armed Forces by ensuring that these individuals and their families are treated fairly in the workplace and are fully integrated into the wider community.

We recognise in particular the Covenant’s promise that ‘no member of the Armed Forces community should face disadvantage in the provision of public and commercial services compared to any other citizen’ and also that in some circumstances special treatment may be appropriate especially for the injured or bereaved.
